Product Description The #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series- the basis for HBO(r)'s True Blood-continues!
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...

Still reading but loving every word. September 8, 2010 Florence Kontos (LAKE HOPATCONG, NJ, US) If you are into the True Blood series, you will relate to this book, enjoying every word.
Loved it! September 8, 2010 Bonnie Barrow (Canada) Sure it wasn't as fast paced as the last Sookie novel. Which I thought was a good thing. The last one seemed too rushed and impersonal. This one delved more deeply into Sookie and some of the other characters. I really liked seeing the family element incorporated here. It was fresh and new and a good change of pace after the fairy war. There was of course some remaining tension. Although Sookie healed rapidly physically (hmmm how much vamp blood has she drank?) her emotional scars proved to be much tougher, and I'm sure we'll still see signs of them in future books. That poor thing's life has been a gore fest since Bill walked into her life. Lets hope Eric can relieve some of that. Which brings me to the ultimate question: just how long does Sookie have before she turns vamp?
No one seems to clear on the specifics of turning, but she can't be far. It is brought up a bit in this book, but I think there are some elements Sookie doesn't consider. Like, what if she isn't left with the choice? What if she has one sip too many from Eric, and wakes up without a heartbeat? Not to mention her fairy blood. Sookie doesn't know that much of her family history, every death mentioned was not by natural aging. All dead family member were murdered...
Can't believe this is Book #10 and they just keep coming! September 7, 2010 L. J. Mytych (Baltimore, Maryland) I really enjoyed this book and my mind is having a hard time with the fact that this is number ten in the series and I've devoured them all! I have to say that I love the books better than the television show - so much more fun to get to read the thoughts and impressions of the characters. This book is a delight!
Sadly disappointed! September 6, 2010 ccharron I am sorry to say that along with others, I have to agree and say this was by far the worst book in the series. I have read every single book in the series and I was so excited to read the latest in the series only to be majorly disappointed. The passion, excitement, and intensity went out the window in this book and although I read it quickly I was constantly waiting for something to happen. Eric and Sookie barely saw each other and the one or two times they did see each other Harris skimmed over it. I thought the ending was boring and didn't really leave anything to look forward to. I will read the next book but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be better than this one.
6 hours gone that i can never get back September 6, 2010 Janine Was the publisher really pushing you that hard to get the next book in print, Ms. Harris? Would have been better to wait. Total waste of time and money. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did. my time is too important to me so I'll be saying goodbye to the Sookie series.
