Product Description STAND, F-CANSTAND, TRI-LEG STAND FOR
Amazon.com Product Description Tired of your butane fuel canister wavering unsteadily while your Brunton lantern or stove pumps away? Turn to the CanStand, which locks underneath a standard canister to give it a rock-steady base. The CanStand sports three splaying legs with rubber grips, helping it stick to large rocks, stumps, and any other relatively flat camping surface. And at 4.6 by 0.9 by 0.8 inches (W x H x D) when folded, the unit takes up minimal space in your pack. The CanStand is compatible with most 4- or 8-ounce isobutane or propane canisters and weighs 0.7 ounces.

Stability August 1, 2010 Thomas S. Hopkins (San Antonio, Texas USA) The Brunton Canstand works as advertised: it is a simple platform that offers stability for your gas stove. It is light, compact, cheap (could be cheaper) and works. Some reviews has said it does not accommodate some can sizes well. I use the standard 110 & 220 size fuel cans which fits all the canister stoves (I have the Optimus Crux) and the stand works fine. Nothing worse then trying to make coffee at 4 am at 11,000 feet in the cold and have the d**n stove fall over! Get it!

Nice accessory February 10, 2010 Tactical Tradecraft (Arizona) The Brunton Canstand for Butane Canisters is a great accessory for stoves such as the MSR Pocket Rocket to add a wider base for stability. The CanStand has three splaying plastic legs with rubber grips, helping it stick to large rocks, stumps, and any other relatively flat surface. It takes up minimal space in your pack and weighs only 0.7 ounces.
Being that it is made of plastic it can break so be cautious. On the other hand it is inexpensive so keep an extra one on deck. It folds up compact and requires very little space. When open it provides added stability to your stove. It should be noted that the Canstand may not provide complete stability depending on the terrain so be cautious and alert especially when dealing with a stove, flames and potentially hot liquids.
If the Brunton Canstand was a bit more durable it would get a 5 star rating. Overall, it is definitely a nice addition to have and provides a needed benefit.
Good idea, just wish it fit better December 9, 2009 D. Scheideman (Carson City, NV) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This stand is loose on Brunton gas canisters. Its difficult to put on because its just small enough you have to tilt it a bit to get in the grooves, yet big enough it easily tilts over and comes off. Getting a stove level with this on is harder than leveling one without it. Works good on a level picnic table though.
Amazing in its simplicity August 31, 2009 Craig D. Clark (Littleton, CO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I changed stove systems from one with bottled fuel to a canister system, I was concerned about the stability of the stove when heating a 2 quart pot due to the small base of the typical canister. When I saw the Brunton Canstand my thinking was "Now there is a great idea!". I just returned from a backpacking trip where I used the Canstand and I must say I was really impressed that something so simple would work so well. The three point stand extends at least an inch beyond the MSR canister I was using with my Primus stove and creates a much more stable base. It weighs slmost nothing and fits in my stove bag. Any canister stove user should not be without one!
