Poor Quality and the Company is Difficult to Deal With August 9, 2010 Linda R. Hendrex (USA) We purchased two of these heaters directly from Eden Pure and have not been satisfied. The price was WAY over the top and the reliability and quality was atrocious. The astounding price would have been worth it if the heaters actually worked reliably, but of the two we purchased, one of them broke within the first year and the company will not return our calls.
And we were not informed until after our purchase that the quartz heating element has to be periodically replaced - an expensive task that cannot be done simply at home but requires the heater to be shipped back to the company on a regular basis AT THE CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE. When we purchased the unit, they told us that there were certified service centers nationwide, which was an outright lie. After our heater broke, we found out that there are vague plans to have certified service centers in the future, but currently none really exist! So if our unit needs any kind of service, we must ship it back. AND BELIEVE ME, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT QUICK ABOUT ANY KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Otherwise, the actual heat is great and the unit is safe for kids and pets - I just think the technology is not advanced enough to be reliable and the company is not honest enough to back up their product. After they have your money, they never want to hear from you again.
mmmmmmm....not recommended! June 23, 2010 Leweycat I purchased this item last December for $334.99 and it worked fine for about 3 months, then it stopped functioning properly. It would cycle on and off but not produce any heat. My January electric bill was the highest it's ever been, the only difference being the EdenPURE! When I tried to obtain warranty service, EdenPURE CS twice advised me that my 3 year warranty was null and void because my seller, Sports Warehouse aka The Golf Store, even tho selling thru Amazon, was not an EdenPURE authorized reseller, so they declined to accept it for warranty repair. Amazon should require sellers to post either 'AUTHORIZED EdenPURE RESELLER' or 'UNAUTHORIZED EdenPURE RESELLLER/NO WARRANTY' in bold print. btw, SW/TGS is still selling these thru Amazon, and they're not alone!
Good, bad and the ugly...... May 12, 2010 W. Brunner I purchased my original 1000XL from BioTech in 2007 when the units came with a one year warranty. I had two or three fail in the first year, which they replaced at no cost, including shipping both ways for all units.
The latest replacement was a 2008 model, which just started to fail after a little over two years and about 5-6 weeks out of warranty, based on my original purchase date of March 2007.
I really have been very pleased with the unit until a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what is wrong, but it definitely will no longer keep temperature in a very small, less than 300 sq ft bedroom in the basement, which is 62 degrees to begin with. I try to keep it between 68 and 70 degrees.
I almost was going to buy another one from BioTech or Amazon today, but after reading the other negative reviews, I will look for another heater first.
In all honestly, their customer service could not have been much better. I have been extremely pleased with the performance of the last unit until a few weeks ago. I have this right next to my bed and I have no issues with noise or the light from the heating source waking me up.
I've been a fan of the heater and BioTech, but I may have to reconsider buying another unit from them and look elsewhere. I recently found out I am allergic to the fumes from our propane heater, and have no choice but to buy another small electric heater.
I am a bit surprised to see all the negative comments on the unit. I gave it three stars because the company did spend a lot of time and money shipping replacement units, while it was under warranty, and the unit that no longer works right, did work very well the past two years.

This product performed exactly as advertised. It warmed up the room I had it in and kept it comfortable. I highly reccomend this heater.

After I ordered this heater, was contacted by seller who informed me that this particular model was temporarally out of stock and offered me an upgrade(to a Sun-Twin) at no extra cost. Accepted offer and heater arrived the next day!
